Early Education Minister Joins Allergy School Class!

On Monday 9 June, Stephen Morgan, the Early Education Minister joined our founder Tanya Ednan-Laperouse OBE at Edith Neville Primary School in London, to see first-hand how our new programme Allergy School, is already transforming allergy safety, education and awareness in schools.
Minister Stephen Morgan chatted with children and teachers and was invited to join an Allergy School lesson with Yr 3’s. The children asked both the Minister and our founder Tanya lots of questions, and were proud to share what they have learned, particularly because four of their friends in the class have food allergies and are at risk of anaphylaxis.
Following the lesson, Minister Stephen Morgan said,
“It’s been brilliant to see the impact of the training being offered by ‘The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation’ today. The safety of our children is the most important thing both in and outside of school, and I encourage all settings to make use of this programme to increase their awareness and understanding of food allergies.”

Since launching Allergy School just a few months ago, the feedback received has been incredibly positive - teachers love that the resources are FREE, they give them confidence to safeguard their allergic pupils and they say the children find the lessons fun, engaging and inclusive.
Why does Allergy School matter? Because…
Around 2 children in every UK classroom have a food allergy.
20% of children experience allergic reactions in school.
67% of teachers have never received any allergy training.
1 in 5 don’t know how to administer an adrenaline auto-injector (AAI) in the event of a medical emergency.
